i'm cesar, and this is desserts before dinner.
dbd is a brooklyn home bakery. everything gets made in my kitchen, small batches, one oven, no shortcuts.
i started this because i was tired of desserts that taste like sugar on sugar. tired of cookies with a bunch of m&m's thrown on top being called creative. i wanted to make something different. not trendy, not gimmicky, just actually good.
so i started with six flavors. spent weeks testing all of them. tweaking ratios, trying different chocolates, rebalancing until every bite hit right. bold but not heavy. sweet but not cloying. the kind of cookie you pause mid-bite for.
every flavor on the menu earned its spot. the dulce pecan chip has dulce de leche infused into the dough, warm and comforting in a way you feel before you taste it. the espresso dark chocolate uses real espresso, not flavoring.
three flavors drop every Monday at noon. about once a month i release a monthly special, something new that joins the lineup until i move on to the next one.
i'm not here to chase what's already everywhere. i'm here to push flavor, make something you haven't had before, and hopefully make your week a little better.
the name comes from me. i was never the kid who felt like i had to eat dinner before dessert. always down to flip the order and have the good stuff first. dbd is built on that energy. life's short, the dessert shouldn't wait.
DBD has always been about passion and the genuine desire to create desserts that stand out in both quality and taste. Every single item is made by me, from scratch, right here in Brooklyn. My goal is to keep experimenting, keep improving, and keep finding new ways to make desserts that remind you why the sweet stuff should never come last.
